The organisations in which we work exist as part of the communities they serve. Sometimes it is all too easy for hospices, care homes and other healthcare institutions to remain isolated from the world around them, creating a barrier between themselves and those who live and work in the local community. A current challenge for such organisations is to examine how they educate and work in partnership with their local communities.

People who are living out their lives in care homes, or who are coming to the end of life as a result of a terminal illness, are often some of the most isolated people within our communities. At St Christopher’s Hospice we are in the process of developing a range of partnerships …
