Electronic patient records (EPRs) are widely used in general practice, but little literature is available regarding their use by palliative care teams. We describe our experience introducing an EPR in our unit. Prior to this introduction, multiprofessional paper-based notes were used alongside a database (Palcare) in which patient contacts were coded for statistical analysis.
