Overview and update of the gold standards framework (GSF) primary care programme
The GSF in Primary Care Programme is a framework of multiple tools, tasks and resources designed to improve care for patients nearing the end of life with any serious condition. The GSF Centre is centrally funded by the Department of Health to support the basic core work, i.e. the helpdesk, facilitator support, website, resources and training. There is additional funding for an enhanced service provided for some strategic health authorities (SHAs). This GSF enhanced service includes being part of the Next Stage Working Group in GSF Primary Care, National Primary Care After Death Analysis (ADA) Study, GSF In-reach to Hospitals Working Group and other resources and support. N.B. The GSF Care Homes Training and Accreditation Programme is a separately commissioned programme — see GSF website.
