Abstract

The aim of this section is to provide a forum for healthcare professionals to describe their experiences (either good or substandard) of care at the end of life or the death of a friend or family member. The objective is to highlight for readers examples of nursing and multidisciplinary management during the dying process in order to encourage reflective practice. The authors remain anonymous in order to protect their confidentiality and that of the patient. Penny Hansford, Director of Nursing at St Christopher’s Hospice, will provide a response.
